What we collect

We collect the personal information we need to assess your lease enquiry and to deliver and service a lease. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

• your name, contact details and date of birth;
• residency, licence and employment details;
• income, expenses and other financial information used to assess whether a lease is suitable for you;
• the vehicle you are interested in and your lease preferences; and
• for vehicles on lease, location and telematics data from the GPS unit and immobiliser fitted to the vehicle, which is a condition of approval and is used to protect the asset.

How we collect it

We collect most information directly from you: through our website forms, by phone or email, or in person. We may also collect information from credit reporting bodies, identity and bank-data verification providers, and the broader Alpha Group, where you have consented or the law allows it.

Identity documents and bank statements

Carzie does not store your identity documents or bank statements. Identity verification is handled directly by our provider (APLYiD), and bank statement analysis by Credit Sense, each through their own secure flow and orchestrated by FinPower. We retain only the provider reference and the verification status, not the underlying documents.

Why we use it

We use your personal information to:

• respond to your enquiry and assess whether a lease is suitable for you;
• deliver, manage and service your lease, including the vehicle and its GPS unit;
• meet our legal, regulatory and responsible-lending obligations; and
• improve our service, and (only with your consent) send you relevant updates.

Who we share it with

In order to provide our service, we may disclose your information to:

• related entities within the Alpha Group, including Alpha Car Finance Pty Ltd;
• FinPower, our loan-management and verification orchestrator, and the identity (APLYiD) and bank-data (Credit Sense) providers it coordinates;
• credit reporting bodies such as Equifax and illion, and debt collection agents;
• our customer-relationship and messaging platform (GoHighLevel) used to manage enquiries and communications;
• service providers who help us operate the business and the website; and
• government, law enforcement or other parties where required or permitted by law.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses essential cookies to function, and optional analytics that only run after you allow them. We currently use privacy-preserving product analytics (PostHog); we do not load marketing or advertising trackers without your consent. For the full detail, see our cookie policy.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Security and retention

We hold personal information using reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, and we keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet our legal obligations. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong, by contacting us using the details above. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can escalate to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA member 43724) or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
