What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are essential to make the site work; others are optional and only run if you allow them.

How we use cookies

We group cookies into three categories.

• Essential: keep the site secure and working. These cannot be turned off.
• Analytics: help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it, including anonymised usage analytics and session recordings (heatmaps and session replays). Opt-out: on by default, including before you make a choice, and off as soon as you turn them off.
• Marketing: measure how well our advertising performs, using Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (GA4) and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. Opt-out: on by default, including before you make a choice, and off as soon as you turn them off.

We use an opt-out model for both optional categories rather than opt-in. Australian privacy law does not require us to obtain your consent before setting analytics or advertising cookies; what it requires is that we tell you what we collect and give you a genuine way to refuse, which is what this page and the cookie settings control provide. You can change any category independently, at any time, using the cookie settings button in the corner of every page, and we keep a record of each choice.

Cookies we set

• ag_consent_analytics, ag_consent_marketing: Remember your choice for each category so we do not ask again. Category: Essential. Retention: 1 year.
• Sign-in / session cookies: Keep you securely signed in to the customer or broker portal. Category: Essential. Retention: Session.
• CSRF token: Protects form submissions against cross-site request forgery. Category: Essential. Retention: Session.
• PostHog (ph_*): Anonymous product analytics that help us understand and improve the site. Category: Analytics (opt-out). Retention: Up to 1 year.
• Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, CLID): Session analytics: anonymised heatmaps and session replays that show how visitors use the site so we can find and fix usability problems. Not used on our application or enquiry pages. Category: Analytics (opt-out). Retention: Up to 1 year.
• Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*, and similar): Measure site traffic and advertising performance. Category: Marketing (opt-out). Retention: Typically up to 2 years.
• Meta Pixel (_fbp): Measures the performance of our Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising. Category: Marketing (opt-out). Retention: Typically up to 90 days.

Managing your choices

When you first visit, a banner lets you allow all cookies, keep only the essential ones, or customise each category individually. You can change your mind at any time, for any category, using the cookie settings button shown in the corner of every page; there is no need to clear your browser cookies to update your choice. Essential cookies cannot be disabled because the site cannot function without them.
